Live Client | University Project
In this case, “being the change” meant advocating for accessible toilets to actually be accessible for those that need them (i.e. hidden disabilities).
This is a live client brief set by Pelican & Respond Healthcare. Their aim was to become the hub for recognising people with hidden disabilities, and their right to the same accessible facilities as those with visible disabilities.
This was a group project, where myself and three others not only redesigned the accessible toilet sign, but also designed a campaign to go with it. The aim of the campaign was to emphasise the need for accessible toilets that are actually accessible for those that need them.
This project went above and beyond. It led to our design team giving a speech in the Senedd, the Welsh Parliament. This project has also been developed further since the event as Cardiff Council want to take on the new signage and trial it in various venues.
